About the Authority
The Libyan Export Development Authority is an executive body affiliated with the Council of Ministers. Its aim is to develop and regulate the non-oil export sector, encourage the establishment of export-oriented industries to diversify national income sources, and support the entry of Libyan products into regional and international markets.
Authority Responsibilities
The Authority is responsible for developing and implementing policies and programs aimed at developing and expanding the base of non-oil exports. This is achieved through preparing the export infrastructure, providing technical and logistical support to exporters through consultations, training, and qualification programs, monitoring foreign markets, providing commercial and economic information to exporters, conducting studies and research related to export opportunities and global demand for Libyan products, and participating in and coordinating efforts to open new marketing channels for Libyan products.
The Authority's Role
The Authority acts as a link between Libyan exporters and global markets by creating an export environment that fosters the competitiveness of national products. This contributes to achieving economic diversification and reducing dependence on oil as the primary source of national income. The Authority works to develop the non-oil export sector, increase Libya's share of international trade, and strengthen its position as a reliable source of high-quality products.
